In 1993 a significant addition to the region’s natural landscape was made when Orange County Land Trust, in partnership with the Nature Conservancy, acquired a 138-acre preserve directly opposite the Cuddebackville estate. The year 2000 saw the arrival of Shen Yun and the Fei Tian Academy who purchased 400 acres and built the performing arts center 'Dragon Springs' on a hill top opposite the Cuddebackville estate. Visible is a 75-foot tall Buddhist temple and other buildings built in the style of the Tang dynasty, additional buildings used contemporary construction. In these classical Chinese architectural buildings and state-of-the-art performance facilities members of Shen Yun live and rehearse. Fei Tian offers a BA degree in classical Chinese dance and Music.
